Privacy Policy
The short version: our apps do not send us your data. Most of them never touch the internet at all. This page explains exactly what that means and the few places where information does change hands.
The apps
Performance Percussion apps — including Performance Editor: SX 9 Pad, Pit, Breakbeat and the rest of the suite — run on your own computer, phone, tablet or hardware. They have no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics.
- We collect nothing. The apps do not transmit your projects, samples, kits, settings, file names, or usage information to us or to anyone else.
- Your files stay yours. When you open a folder, import audio, or write to a connected instrument, that happens locally between the app and your own storage or hardware. Performance Editor: SX 9 Pad makes no network requests of any kind.
- Local network features are device-to-device. Some apps (for example Pit and smaRTPath) discover and talk to other devices on your own local network to carry MIDI, timing or show data. That traffic stays on your network. It does not reach our servers, because we do not run any servers for it.
- Diagnostics are local and opt-in. Apps that keep a diagnostics log write it to a file on your own device. Nothing is uploaded. It is only shared if you choose to export that file and send it to us with a support request — and you can read it first.
This website
This site has no advertising and no ad-tracking pixels. It does use two analytics tools, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you find them in the page source:
- Google Analytics 4 — counts visits and tells us which pages people read and where they arrived from. Standard web analytics.
- Microsoft Clarity — records session replays and heatmaps: how far down a page you scrolled, what you clicked, where the layout confused you. We use it to fix pages that do not work, not to identify individuals, and Clarity masks text typed into form fields by default. We will not call these recordings anonymous, because a replay of a single visit is inherently detailed — what we will say is that we do not attach your name to one or try to work out who you are.
Neither tool receives your name from us, and we do not use them to build a profile of you or to sell anything about you to anyone. If you would rather not be measured, a content blocker or a privacy-focused browser stops both and the site works exactly the same without them. We are not going to claim that a browser's "Do Not Track" setting stops them — DNT is a request, not an enforcement mechanism, and most analytics tools do not honour it.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of outside services. This is all of them:
- Cloudflare — hosts this site, stores mailing-list signups, and routes email sent to our addresses.
- MailerLite — sends our email. If you join the list, your address is stored there.
- Google (Analytics) and Microsoft(Clarity) — the two analytics tools described above.
- Paddle — will handle payments when the software goes on sale. They are the seller of record and hold the payment details; we never see your card number.
How long we keep things
- Mailing-list address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, then it goes.
- Support email: kept while it is useful for helping you, and reviewed periodically — we are a small operation, not an archive.
- Analytics: whatever the tools' own defaults are — currently up to 14 months for Google Analytics and 30 days for Clarity recordings. We do not extend them.
- Server logs: short-term, as our host keeps them for security and reliability.
If you are outside the US, note that these services process data in the US. If you would like your data removed at any point, email us and it will be — see "Your choices" below.
Besides that, the only thing stored in your browser is your theme preference, so the site remembers whether you like it dark or light.
If you enter your email address to join the mailing list, we store that address along with which page you signed up from and the date, so we know what you were interested in and can stop sending if you ask. We use it to email you about Performance Percussion software. We do not sell, rent or share it.
Like every website, our host records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.
Support email
When you email support, we keep the conversation so we can help you and remember the context next time. If you attach a diagnostics file, it may contain the names and paths of files you chose to work with, plus your app version and operating system. It never contains the audio itself.
Children
These are professional music tools. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to get a copy of anything we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted — including removing your address from the mailing list and deleting past support correspondence. There is no form and no account to cancel; a plain email to a person is enough.
Changes
If what we collect ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly start collecting something and leave this page saying otherwise.
